Sebastián López Betancurt

Uruguayan-born NYer, engineer and slackliner navigating the intersection of AI, education, and ethics.

Sebastián López was born in Tacuarembó, Uruguay, in 1988. He holds a degree in Systems Engineering from ORT University Uruguay and an MBA from Duke University – The Fuqua School of Business, supported by academic excellence scholarships.

He currently works as a Cloud Technical Account Manager at Google NYC, supporting large enterprises in designing and implementing cloud-based technological solutions. He is co-founder of SSSYNC and also Pindata, a social impact company focused on technology education, and president of Fundación Abono, where he leads innovative educational initiatives such as AI workshops for young people in Uruguay.

Beyond his academic and professional background, Sebastián has a deep connection with the body and movement. He trained in acrobatics and conscious movement at La Invisible circus school in Montevideo, and continued his practice at NYC Movement Studio with coaches from the Ido Portal method, and at Willspace in New York’s West Village.

His professional and physical practices coexist as complementary expressions of exploration, presence, and continuous evolution.
